If you fill out our Contact Us form, we’ll ask for:

When You Apply for a Position

If you submit a career application, we’ll ask for:

  • Your name and last name (required)
  • Middle name and second last name (optional)

  • Job type and how you heard about us (required)
  • Resume/CV upload (optional)

A note about resumes: Your resume may include personal details like your home address, education, work history, or references. We only use this information for evaluating your candidacy. Since we don’t control what you include in your resume, please only share what you’re comfortable providing.

When You Use the Chatbot

Our website includes an AI-powered chatbot to help answer questions about our services. When you use it, we collect the messages you send and basic session information such as timestamps. If you share contact details in the chat, we’ll collect those as well.

When You Reach Out via WhatsApp

If a conversation is transferred from the chatbot to WhatsApp, or if you contact us directly through WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and the content of your messages. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and their own privacy policy applies to the platform itself.

When You Browse Our Website

Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information when you visit, including:

  • Pages visited and general browsing patterns
  • Browser type, device, and operating system
  • IP address (for approximate location and diagnostics)
  • Cookies (small files that help improve your experience — more on this below)

Spam Protection (Google reCAPTCHA)

Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. This may send basic device information to Google for verification. Google’s own privacy policy governs that data — we only receive a confirmation that you’re not a bot.

About Our Chatbox

Our chatbot is here to help you learn about ITDG’s services. It runs on Microsoft Azure and uses artificial intelligence to understand your questions and provide helpful answers.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • The chatbot provides general information — it doesn’t make quotes, proposals, or commitments on behalf of ITDG.
  • Like all AI tools, it may occasionally give incomplete or imperfect answers.
  • If it can’t help with your question, it may offer to connect you with a team member via WhatsApp (with your permission).
  • You’re never required to use the chatbot — you can always contact us directly.

About WhatsApp Support

We use WhatsApp Business for conversations that need a personal touch beyond what the chatbot can offer. Here’s how we handle it:

  • We’ll always ask for your consent before transferring you from the chatbot to WhatsApp.
  • We store your phone number and conversation for customer service purposes.
  • We won’t use your WhatsApp number for marketing unless you explicitly tell us it’s okay.
  • WhatsApp is a Meta platform, so their privacy policy also applies to your use of the app.

How Do We Use Your Information?

We only use your information for straightforward, legitimate purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide information about our services.
  • To review job applications and resumes.
  • To improve our website, chatbot, and support channels.
  • To prevent spam and protect against misuse.

Do We Share Your Information?

We do not sell, rent, or give away your personal information. However, some trusted services help us run our website and support channels:

  • Microsoft Azure: Hosts our website and chatbot. Your chatbot conversations are processed on their cloud platform under a data processing agreement.
  • Meta (WhatsApp): Processes WhatsApp messages through their infrastructure. Their privacy policy applies.
  • Google (reCAPTCHA): Handles spam protection on our forms. Their privacy policy applies.

We may also share information if required by law or court order from Puerto Rico or federal authorities, or if necessary to protect the safety and rights of ITDG or the public.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to function properly and to help us understand how visitors use the site. We use two types:

  • Essential cookies: Needed for the website and chatbot to work correctly.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us see which pages are most useful so we can improve the site.

You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Turning them off may affect some features like the chatbot.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We only keep your information as long as we need it:

  • Contact form submissions: Up to 24 months, or longer if we have an active business relationship.
  • Career applications and resumes: Up to 24 months, so we can consider you for future opportunities. You can ask us to delete yours earlier at any time.
  • Chatbot conversations: Up to 12 months.
  • WhatsApp conversations: Up to 12 months.
  • Analytics data: Kept in anonymous, aggregated form that doesn’t identify you.

That said, no system is 100% secure. We do our best, but we can’t guarantee absolute security over the Internet.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, including encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. Resumes and applicant files are stored in secure, access-controlled systems and only accessible to authorized ITDG staff involved in hiring.

That said, no system is 100% secure. We do our best, but we can’t guarantee absolute security over the Internet.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Ask us what personal information we have about you.
  • Correct: Ask us to fix any information that’s wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete: Ask us to delete your information, including resumes and applications.
  • Object: Ask us to stop processing your information in certain situations.
  • Withdraw consent: Change your mind about how we use your data at any time.
  • Skip the chatbot: You can always contact us directly instead.

Legal Framework

ITDG complies with the privacy and data protection laws that apply to our business, including:

  • Puerto Rico Constitution (Article II, Section 8): Recognizes the fundamental right to privacy.
  • Puerto Rico Act 81: Recognizes the fundamental right to privacy.
  • Federal laws: Including COPPA (children’s privacy) and CAN-SPAM (email communications).

We keep an eye on new privacy legislation in Puerto Rico and will update this Policy as needed.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, please contact us and we’ll delete it promptly.
